COMMESH UAB is implementing the project “Development of STEP Technology by COMMESH UAB in the Field of Defence and Security” (Project No. 02-130-K-0011) from 20 August 2026 to 20 August 2028, co-financed under the funding conditions of Measure No. 05-001-01-05-07 “Create a Consistent System for Promoting Innovative Activities” of the 2022–2030 Economic Transformation and Competitiveness Development Programme. The project is funded through the activity “Promoting the Development or Production of European Strategic Technologies Platform (STEP) Technologies in the Field of Defence and Security, Including Special Components and Special Machinery Used for the Manufacturing of Final Products”, covering both the Capital Region and the Central and Western Lithuania Region funding interventions.

The main objective of the project is to develop a STEP technology through experimental development activities.

As part of the project, the company plans to create a next-generation autonomous, ultra-low-power sensor network platform designed for continuous protection and situational monitoring. The solution is based on COMMESH UAB’s already developed and field-validated technology of distributed acoustic sensors interconnected through RF communication. During the project, this technology will be expanded into a multi-purpose monitoring platform suitable for a broader range of applications.

The planned system will:

-Ensure continuous and reliable area surveillance.

-Enable long-term autonomous operation without the need for supporting infrastructure.

-Increase cost efficiency over the long term.

-Allow flexible expansion of the monitoring network according to the size and nature of the protected area.
